Three ways to secure your ticket.
- Option one · Direct
Book at chateauversailles.fr — the official website run by the Public Establishment. This is the only route with no booking fee. Tickets show a 30-minute entry window; be at the gates 10 minutes before your slot.
- Option two · Paris Museum Pass
If you're seeing multiple Paris sites, the 2-day (£62), 4-day (£82) or 6-day (£100) Museum Pass usually pays for itself within three attractions. You still need to book a free timed slot for Versailles on the official website.
- Option three · Guided tour
A guided tour costs €10 on top of your Palace ticket and gives access to normally closed areas — the King's Private Apartments, the Royal Opera and the private hunting rooms of Louis XV. Groups are capped at 30. Book at least 48 hours ahead.

When Versailles is free.
Between November and March, the first Sunday of each month is free of charge for all visitors. A free timed-entry slot must still be booked in advance.
Free entry year-round for: under-18s of any nationality, EU residents aged 18–25, visitors with disabilities plus one companion, teachers with a Pass Éducation card, and holders of an accredited press card.
